Fast Design. With Geometry
Solutions, you can quickly create 2D parts, generate hole patterns,
or create geometry to calculate or verify formed part data.
This geometry may then be used to create your formed part.
Some common special tools are automatically drawn in SMP's
Geometry Solutions, or you can use it as a fast method to design
special tools.
CAD Terminology. Geometry Solutions contains
terminology similar to most other CAD packages such as points,
lines, arcs, and some sheet metal features such as holes.
Holes are defined as rounds, squares, obrounds, rectangles,
or any other special shape.
Geometry entities may be trimmed, extended, moved, or copied
with ease. Copied entities can be gridded, rotated, or mirrored.
One of eight different colors can be used for any entity.
Lines and arcs can be dashed or created as hidden lines or
arcs.
While constructing geometry, Geometry Solutions allows you
to use many geometry moves such as parallel, perpendicular,
absolute angle, relative angle, tangent to an arc, tangent
to two arcs, bisecting, and filleting.
Define 3D Models. Geometry Solutions is
used to help define a 3D formed part model. For example,
if you are making a fan shroud, the two arcs have center
points, the radii are known, but the angle of the radii and
the length of the edges need to be calculated.
2D CAD data can be brought into Geometry Solutions from
any CAD system via DXF, IGES, MI, or SAT. This geometry can
then be altered for your specific manufacturing process.
Draw Flat Patterns. You can also draw
flats in Geometry Solutions. Simply draw the flat pattern,
add bend lines and fold it up into a 3D formed part model.
Merry Mechanization combines all the features of a CAD system
and manufacturing power into one package, SMP/IS - the CAD/CAM
software of choice for sheet metal fabricators. |
