G.E.M.S. is a great tool for creating and editing 3D parts. Quickly edit, add and delete features and stretch or shrink parts. This time saving tool is a favorite of many SMP/IS users!

G.E.M.S., a unique and powerful tool, allows you to capture groups of features (a Feature Set) from a part, add them to a library of reusable features, and place them on the same part or on different parts.  A Feature Set can consist of holes, bends, corners, or any combination of these features.

To create a Feature Set, simply polygon around a group of features.  Then attach the Feature Set to any base or partially completed part you desire.  You can specify the number of Feature Sets or the spacing between them.  The thickness and end radius for different parts are automatically adjusted, and it will automatically stretch to the proper length of the part.

G.E.M.S. allows the novice user to edit parts in seconds.  Stretch or shrink a part.  Easily adjust bend angles and radii.  Flip the bend or flange in the opposite direction.  Change corner radii individually or all at once with just one command.

All shapes and configurations of holes are handled with G.E.M.S. including rounds, squares, obrounds, rectangles and other special shapes.  The hole sizes and styles you choose are placed into a graphical chart and can be quickly selected for later use.  The 3D model can be shaded within seconds to make the part appear realistic.
