The program interfaces with other CAD/CAM systems via IGES, DXF, MI or SAT formats so the flat can be sent to any CAD system for formal engineering or documentation. SMP/IS quickly and easily handles extremely busy or complex parts, including parts with off-axis bends, mitered corners, hem bends, joggles, and special tools. The flat data is directly available to the NC module for producing the manufacturing data to drive your machine tools. Since the formed part unfolds correctly 100% of the time, there is no need to check the flats and prove-out the NC tapes. Editing can be done on the computer screen rather than on the shop floor, thus reducing metal scrap and saving valuable engineering and production time. |

Among the features displayed is an automatic hole chart with a description of the holes, the quantity, and a reference letter for each hole. This chart is displayed with the flat model, on a second sheet, or in an ASCII file that may be used to alter the dimensions of the holes. Other options include relocating the datum point, user-definable title block, and ordinate/running options. You may even select English or Metric units and ANSI or ISO drawing formats.
