Formed Part Modeler serves as the base for part creation within SMP/IS.  For every formed part model, SMP/IS produces the flat layout, automatically dimensioned and 100% accurate.  And it takes just a second!

The software "knows" sheet metal characteristics such as sharp and radius corners, flat folds, up and down bends, and holes of any style.  It automatically calculates bend allowances and will adjust for non-typical radii and angles.  The 3D model is displayed in top, front and side views, and in isometric projection, making parts easier to visualize.  The 3D model can be rotated at any angle and viewed from any combination of sides in both true and non-true views.  Shading makes the part appear realistic and eliminates the optical illusion associated with wire frame geometry.

Either draw an original part in SMP/IS, or import part data using the CAD interface utility.  Accurate flat patterns are developed quickly and can be checked for manufacturability without producing a part.  Make any corrections, produce a correct prototype the first time, and save valuable machine time and material.
